In Kuwait, a large tire recycling project in the district of Ardiya lost a support by some ministers because the tender was allegedly awarded to a firm which belongs to a former lawmaker, in addition to offering a piece of land for removing  tires, reports Arab Times Online.

Ministry of Commerce and Industry confirmed there was a thousand-square-feet plot of land reserved for the tire recycling initiative, whereas the entire project was designed to recycle some 23 million tires.According to another sources, the former lawmakers claim that a minister referred the company for investigation for encroaching on a State property. These sources also declared that there have been many companies which requested approval to establish tire recycling factories and other solid waste recycling units, however some senior officials blocked the request.
