The specialty chemicals company that produces sustainable raw materials from end-of-life tires and post-industrial rubber Lehigh Technologies and the waste resource company HERA Holding have announced a joint venture for the construction and operation of the first Micronized Rubber Powder (MRP) production facility in Europe.

In order to meet the growing demand for MRP, the production facility of Lehigh Spain is currently under construction in Murillo del Fruto, Spain. Lehigh Spain will also continue to develop new markets for the PolyDyne® and MicroDyne® product ranges, focusing on delivering high-performance, low-cost, sustainable raw materials for applications in the tire, asphalt and other industrial end uses.

In 2013 Lehigh and HERA Holding started developing the MRP market in Europe and until now they are operating in 6 countries from the region. Lehigh Spain has been formed last year in order to represent Lehigh to the European market and to meet the growing demand. Now HERA Holding is a shareholder in Lehigh Spain under the joint venture structure.

Lehigh Spain will serve the entire Europe, Middle East and Africa region, including Russia. As demand for MRP increases across the region, manufacturing capacity will be expanded as needed to ensure reliable supply.
