Australia will use recycled tire rubber to advance ‘sustainable golf’
Tyre Stewardship Australia (TSA) has presented a new innovative project by Environmental Golf Solutions that coverts scrap tires into durable, quality concrete for the Sports Turf Industry. This solution for recycled tires has been named Golfelx, the TSA reported on its social media accounts.
Golflex uses recycled rubber from end-of-life tires – rubber crumb – in golf development projects. This application is ingeniously used in bunkers as it can improve sand bunker drainage and it has a positive environmental impact.
Director of Environmental Golf Solutions Kate Torgersan commented on the reports saying that her company was proud to collaborate with Flexiroc and TSA.
She added that her team now can trial Golflex as a cart path and bunker lining, and this has become possible due to the cooperation with TSA and Flexiroc.
