Swedish tire pyrolysis equipment manufacturer and operator – Scandinavian Enviro Systems – reports about market expectations that can significantly influence the company’s profitability. Below, we cite the company’s recent press release describing the matter. Over the past year, Scandinavian Enviro Systems AB (publ, “Enviro”) has noticed a dramatic increase in interest in the oil — known as pyrolysis oil — that the company can extract from end-of-life tires using its proprietary technology. The oil has a high bio content due to the natural rubber in tires, and in the company’s opinion is therefore of great interest to many players in the market because it could replace fossil-based alternatives.

Carlton Forest Group’s IRR Manufacturing is forging ahead in the pyrolysis market with the launch of an updated website to showcase its unique technology. Manufactured in South Africa, but managed by an expert team in the UK, IRR Waste 2 Energy, already has a pyrolysis plant installed and fully operational at its UK headquarters in Worksop, and is achieving outputs of energy, oil and carbon char making the process entirely circular. To demystify the smoke and mirrors media profile that pyrolysis generally has, the team has adopted an up front and honest approach; showcasing the typical processes and costs associated with installing and commissioning an IRR pyrolysis plant. Four packages are presented on the new website giving clear explanations, which can be supported by onsite visits and the technical expertise of the UK team.

Today, scrap tires find numerous uses in many industrial applications and consumer goods. Even though the number of applications grows, there is still a huge surplus of scrap tires available for recycling and many tire stockpiles around the world will remain intact yet for decades. Researchers claim, however, that a huge number of scrap tires can be successfully reused in concrete; interestingly, not only rubber can be used to improve properties of concrete, but the bulk of other materials contained in tires, i.e. recycled steel and synthetic fibers. This article briefly summarizes findings of such researches.
