Australian tire pyrolysis operator Pearl Global appoints new CEO
Pearl Global Limited – an Australia-based tire pyrolysis company – recently announced the appointment of Mr. David Wheeley as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) commencing in February 2022.
Most recently David Wheeley has been General Manager of Cleanaway Waste Management’s Solid Waste Services in Queensland. Prior to this Mr. Wheeley has held a range of senior executives positions at Hynds Group, Hygrade Water and Holcim, according to Pearl Global’s press release.
The Company’s Chairman, Mike Barry, said “David Wheeley has deep experience in the resource recovery sector and brings to 6the Company solid operational skills and disciplines”.
The appointment of Mr. Wheeley as CEO and Mr Barry as Non-Executive Chairman in August 2021 is part of Pearl’s wider renewal of its Board and Management to significantly improve operational performance at the Stapylton site and to seek opportunities for future profitable growth.
Pearl Global Limited is an innovator tire pyrolysis company that uses (reportedly) unique,thermal desorption technology to cleanly convert end-of-life tires into valuable secondary products including waste to energy opportunities.
According to the company’s press release, Pearl Global holds Australia’s first environmental approvals for the thermal treatment of rubber and is in commercial production at its facility in Stapylton, Queensland.
