Willich/Bologna, May 26, 2025 – The Allianz Zukunft Reifen (AZuR) had a strong showing at the 2025 Recircle Awards ceremony in Bologna, taking home seven awards. The international expert jury recognized AZuR partners Genan, Marangoni, and Italmatic for their innovative solutions in retreading and tire recycling. The Recircle Awards are considered the world’s leading recognition for companies committed to sustainable processes and innovation in tire retreading and efficient tire recycling. This year’s success for AZuR and its network sends a strong message: in addition to the individual award, six more honors went to AZuR partners — a new record.
Women Power for the Future of Retreading
Christina Guth’s award recognizes the outstanding contribution of a woman helping to shape the future of the tire industry—particularly in retreading. As AZuR network coordinator, Guth has played a key role in founding, establishing, and growing the alliance of over 90 partners from industry, trade, and academia. With strategic foresight and personal dedication, she has united a diverse range of stakeholders from all areas of the tire and recycling sector under one shared mission: advancing a sustainable circular tire economy.

Six Recircle Awards for AZuR Partners
AZuR partner Marangoni received the prestigious Retreader of the Year Award 2025, recognizing decades of quality and innovation in retreading. Marangoni also received two additional honors: Best Tread Rubber Supplier and the Lifetime Achievement Award for Mario Marangoni, honoring his career and contributions to the industry.
In the Tyre Recycler of the Year 2025 category, Genan impressed the jury with its highly efficient, resource-conserving recycling process. “We are truly honored to be named Tire Recycler of the Year 2025,” said Eduard Vogt, Key Account Manager at Genan, who accepted the award in Bologna. “This recognition means a great deal to us, and we thank everyone who shares our commitment to sustainability and innovation in tire recycling.”
AZuR partner Italmatic was honored twice for technological innovation: winning the Best Retreading Equipment Supplier award and receiving the Best Retreading Industry Innovation award for its Crater 4.0 Double Skiving Robot. The Italian equipment manufacturer has recently stood out for its investments in robotics and automation.
23 AZuR Nominations Across 13 Categories
AZuR’s performance in Bologna was impressive. With 23 nominations across 13 of the 14 award categories, the network had a widespread presence. In addition to Genan, Italmatic, and Marangoni, AZuR partners Rigdon, Pyrum Innovations, B&J Rocket, Zeppelin, Tyromer, Cima Impianti, and the Circular Rubber Platform were also nominated. This demonstrates that AZuR’s commitment to a sustainable tire circular economy is not an individual effort but the result of a strong, collaborative network.
After receiving the Recircle Circular Economy Award in 2023, this year’s success confirms that the sustainable tire circular economy is gaining increasing relevance across politics, industry, and society in Europe.
