In AZuR’s (Allianz Zukunft Reifen) network, material recyclers are important buyers of end-of-life tires for the secondary raw materials. Recently, AZuR introduced Austrian company KIAS Recycling GmbH as a partner.

KIAS Recycling operates the only used tire recycling plant in Austria, which is one of the most modern in Europe. At the Ohlsdorf site, up to 30,000 tons of end-of-life tires are broken down into their individual components and the majority of them recycled. KIAS extracts rubber (65 percent), steel (20 percent) and textile cord (15 percent) from car and truck tires with almost no emissions. The end products are high-quality materials that can be reused to manufacture new products. KIAS creates its own scientifically sound and practical solutions. The result is innovative products and customized applications for customers.

According to AZuR, KIAS makes an important contribution to the sustainable use of natural resources and thus to protecting the environment through the ecologically and economically sensible recycling of old tires. The KIAS recycling system ranges from pre-shredding to granulation and cleaning and the company’s recycling plant meets the highest quality standards and at the same time offers maximum flexibility to meet the diverse requirements of customers.
