German AZuR has announced it had been nominated for the German Sustainability Award 2024.

The German Sustainability Award 2024 (Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis), Europe's biggest award for environmental and social commitment, will be presented for the 17th time in 2024. This award recognizes pioneering contributions that are shaping our future more sustainably.

AZuR has been nominated in the transformation field of value chain in the domain of rubber! The organizations's work on retreading end-of-life tires sends a strong signal for sustainable mobility and resource conservation. According to a study by the Fraunhofer Institute (AZuR/DBU), retreading saves over 60% of CO2 emissions, two-thirds of raw materials (including rubber in particular) and around 50% of energy compared to new tire production.

AZuR notes that retreaded tires undergo strict safety and quality controls, providing an environmentally friendly and economically viable alternative without compromising on performance.
