AZuR shares key updates in its August–September 2025 report.

AZuR (Allianz Zukunft Reifen) is the European network for a sustainable tire circular economy. Founded in 2020, the alliance unites more than 90 partners from industry, trade, and academia across all segments of the tire value chain. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, AZuR develops innovative solutions to make tire use more resource-efficient, supporting both ecological and economic sustainability in the industry.

August–September 2025 report highlights

AZuR announced that most partners have confirmed their participation for 2026, ensuring continuity of the network’s collaborative efforts. A new partner, TireCheck, has joined the alliance. The company specializes in advanced TPMS sensor technology designed for commercial vehicles, adding further expertise in digital monitoring solutions to the network.

The next AZuR Partner Meeting will take place on February 26–27, 2026, hosted by KIAS. In September, AZuR’s steering committee, retreading, and chemical recycling project groups met digitally to discuss ongoing developments, with meeting summaries available on the organization’s intranet.

A major highlight this period was AZuR’s recognition at the German Award for Sustainability Projects 2025, held in Berlin on September 11. The network received the award in the Overall Concept – NPO category for its practical and comprehensive approach to advancing a climate-friendly tire recycling economy.

AZuR also successfully hosted the second Retreading Summit on September 16–17, 2025, at the KRONE Trailer Forum in Werlte. The event gathered more than 80 participants from the tire and retreading industries, logistics, politics, and academia to discuss technologies, materials, and future potential in retreading.

Throughout September, AZuR representatives took part in several industry events, including the DSLV reception in Berlin and the NUFAM trade fair in Karlsruhe, where AZuR and ZARE jointly promoted tire circularity through certified collection, repair, regrooving, retreading, and recycling.

Upcoming activities include AZuR’s participation in key sustainability and industry events throughout October and November 2025, such as the K 2025 trade fair in Düsseldorf, the BW Congress in Stuttgart, and the AZuR Colloquium in Paderborn.
