According to Tyre & Rubber Recycling magazine, Big Atom – a UK’s recycling company that manufactures all types of rubbers and plastics into recycled crude – has submitted a planning application for a pyrolysis plant in Knottingley, Wakefield, UK.

The application, made on behalf of Big Atom by FCC Environment – the UK’s waste and resource management company, – represents a new venture for a tire pyrolysis treatment plant.

The proposed plant, occupying 1.7 hectares with a covered area of 3158.8 square meters, will house offices, equipment, and storage for the finished product.

If approved, the plant is expected to employ 43 full-time staff and have a throughput capacity of 27,000 tonnes.
