Scandinavian Enviro Systems (Enviro) – a Swedish tire pyrolysis equipment supplier and operator – says it made a strategic recruitment by employing Fredrik Alpner as the Site Manager for the company’s plant in Åsensbruk and future plant in Uddevalla. Enviro highlights that Alpner has a long-standing background as production manager in the global processing industry and will take up a new role that will contribute to both the continued industrialization and commercialization of Enviro’s leading tire pyrolysis technology and realizing the company’s expansion plan.

Enviro says it is currently in an intense phase in which the company is scaling up industrialization of its recycling technology by establishing the company’s first full-scale tire pyrolysis plant in Chile together with Michelin. At the same time, the company’s expansion plan is gradually being implemented, with the aim of establishing recycling capacity of a total of 900,000 tons of end-of-life tires by 2030. In autumn 2021, the company applied for an environmental permit for establishing a full-scale recycling plant in Uddevalla.

According to the press release, central to both the industrialization and expansion plan is that the company is able to scale up its technology and establish an efficient production and process at its recycling plants. Fredrik Alpner has a long-standing background in the processing industry that has included roles as production and site manager for the global chemical producer Grace Catalyst’s plant in Stenungsund.

Fredrik Alpner will take office in mid-April this year and will initially work as the Site Manager of Enviro’s Åsensbruk plant. It is then planned that he will assume responsibility for the future plant in Uddevalla in the role of Site Manager.

Enviro claims it has developed an efficient recycling technology that can help to increase circularity in the use of valuable raw materials. The technology, reportedly, can recover carbon black, oil and steel from end-of-life tyres for reuse in the tyre and rubber industry and the chemicals industry. The use of recovered carbon black and oil offers both environmental and financial benefits. In September 2021, Enviro was certified for carbon black manufacturing under the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification system (ISCC). The company says its oil recovered from end-of-life tires also received ISCC certification.
