ETRMA and industry representatives urge EU Commission to improve EUDR information system
The European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers’ Association (ETRMA), together with other associations representing the commodities under the scope of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), has signed a letter to the EU Commission lamenting that the EUDR information system is not yet on track to meet the requirements of properly functioning supply chains.
We support the objectives of the EUDR and, in that spirit, we continue to offer constructive feedback.
Therefore, in the letter, the coalition asked the Commission to consider:
- Planning a second round of testing with the business community
- Making the API specifications ready as of May for business to prepare
- Lifting the 25MB limitation or substantially increasing file size for uploading files as part of the due diligence statement
- Accepting other data formats than the only GeoJson standard
- Opening up the information system for all users as soon as possible and, at the very latest, beginning of November
