The European Recycling Industries’ Confederation (EuRIC) teams up with DENUO, the Belgian waste management and recycling federation, to shine a spotlight on car recycling during the European Recycling Conference 2023 in Brussels on September 28, 2023.

According to EuRIC, the automotive industry is going through a major revolution. By 2035, combustion engine vehicles will be phased out and replaced by electric vehicles (EVs). This transition will have a significant impact on all the players involved, considering that the industry provides 12.6 million direct and indirect jobs in the EU. Recycling is no exception.

Cars are composed of various materials like steel, aluminum, plastics, critical materials, rubber, and textiles, among others. The revision of the ELV Directive into a Regulation is just the beginning! This move is expected to attract substantial investments needed to ensure that the EU maintains its leadership in car recycling.

At the European Recycling Conference 2023, you can expect to hear from top-level speakers from both the industry and policy-making sphere. They will keep you updated on the latest economic and policy aspects resulting from these transformative changes.

This year, the European Recycling Conference is placing a strong emphasis on networking opportunities. After the half-day conference, you'll have the chance to engage with fellow attendees during a networking walking dinner at De Warande, an exclusive venue in the heart of Brussels.
