About China Tyre Recycling Association

Registered with Ministry of Civil Affairs of the PRC in April 1987, China Tyre Recycling Association (previously known as China Tyre Retreading, Repairing and Recycling Association) is by far the only national civil organization in the field of tire retreading, as well as of the recycling and reusing of end-of-life tires (ELTs). The Association has been qualified to hold legal personality, and is now directed by the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. It also works under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, and the National Development and Reform Commission.

At present, the Association mainly deals with the retreading of used tires and recycling and reusing of end-of-life tires, the latter of which could be further divided into three categories as: the regeneration of rubber from ELTs, the production of rubber powder from ELTs, and the pyrolysis of ELTs.

The Association holds regular activities. The International Expo of Recycling and Reusing China’s Tire Resources makes itself a fest for people from all over the industry. The monthly issued Comprehensive Utilization of Tire Resources of China stays primary to anyone new to the field. The online network of Recycling and Reusing China’s Tire Resources is also rather informative. Besides, the Association is in charge of two high-tech centers, namely the China (Nankai) Research Center of Recycling and Reusing Tire Resources, and the China (Shanghai) Research and Development Center of Tire Retreading Technology.

Headquartered in Beijing, the Association consists of a few standing institutions, including the Secretariat, the Tire Retreading Branch, the Regenerated Rubber Branch, the Tire-generated Rubber Powder and its Application Branch, the Pyrolysis Branch, the Machinery Branch, and the Technical Committee. The Association also admits member units; and by the end of 2014, 758 member units have been admitted and are remaining in close contact. They help contribute to the development of the Association.
