Fornnax is pleased to announce its significant project with RPM Automotive Group Limited, a prominent Australian automotive parts distributor. This ambitious initiative demonstrates RPM's strong commitment to environmental responsibility within Australia’s tyre recycling industry. To achieve its objectives, RPM strategically integrated Fornnax's high-capacity SR-200 HD primary shredder into its operations in 2024.

The crucial addition of Fornnax SR-200 HD primary shredder has not only substantially improved RPM's production efficiency but also enhanced the quality of its recycled materials, solidifying Fornnax's reputation as a leader in sustainable recycling technology.

"At Fornnax, we understand the urgency of addressing end-of-life tyre waste, not just in Australia but globally," states Mr. Jignesh Kundaria, Director and CEO of Fornnax. He further comments, "The SR-200 HD Primary Shredder is designed for exceptional efficiency, enabling RPM to process vast quantities of discarded tyres while maintaining optimal operational performance. This collaboration showcases our dedication to providing our clients with the robust, high-performance solutions they need to excel in the circular economy."

Driving innovation in Australia's tyre recycling market

RPM's cutting-edge 3,500-square-meter recycling facility currently processes over 180 tonnes of used tyres weekly, with plans to expand operations to exceed 300 tonnes per week. At full capacity, this initiative will allow RPM to secure approximately 5% of the national market share, strengthening its influence in the country's circular economy.

Beyond processing efficiency, RPM's recycling program utilizes reverse logistics and engages with the open market to acquire tyres for repurposing. By leveraging its existing distribution network and customer base, RPM is projected to collect and recycle up to 54,000 tonnes of end-of-life tyres within the next five years, a vital step in reducing landfill dependence and fostering a more sustainable future.

RPM's recycling efforts extend beyond responsible waste disposal. Through innovative repurposing strategies, the company is transforming discarded tyres into recycled rubber-based products that support key industries. These materials will be used in road infrastructure projects and as low-grade diesel fuel for industrial kilns, mills, and power plants, effectively closing the loop on tyre waste.

This initiative comes at a critical time, as Australia's federal government's 2021 ban on tyre waste exports has increased demand for domestic recycling solutions. RPM's program directly addresses the nation's growing waste challenge, bridging the gap between waste generation and successful recovery efforts.

Empowering a circular economy through innovation

Fornnax takes immense pride in empowering industry leaders like RPM, along with global clientele in Europe, the GCC, and beyond, with cutting-edge recycling technologies.
