The German Tyre Retail and Vulcanisation Trade Association (BRV) has revised its general terms and conditions (AGB) recommendations for the first time since 2021, introducing key updates relevant to tire dealers, particularly in the retreaded tire sector.

One major change is the elimination of the shortened one-year statute of limitations for retreaded tires. The BRV clarified that, from a legal standpoint, retreaded tires are not considered used goods, removing the justification for a reduced warranty period.

Additionally, the clarifications on liability for defects emphasize that dealers have the right to rectify defects (Nacherfüllung), and customers are obliged to allow them the opportunity to do so.

These updates aim to strengthen the market for retreaded truck tires and enhance legal certainty for tire retailers. The revised AGB recommendations are available for download on the BRV website.
