India's Group CNJ expands tire recycling operations with Fornnax Technology in Australia
Group CNJ, headquartered in Ahmedabad, India, is investing $3.5 million in a new tire recycling facility in Melbourne, Australia, as part of its global expansion strategy. The new site will be equipped with Fornnax Technology’s advanced shredding equipment, including the SR 150 primary shredder and R-4000 secondary shredder, enabling the facility to process 10 tonnes of tires per hour, with an annual capacity of 55,000 tonnes. The plant is expected to be operational by March 2025 and will produce high-quality steel-free rubber chips.
Fornnax Technology Pvt Ltd, based in Ahmedabad, specializes in providing comprehensive solutions for tire recycling, including shredders, granulators, and separation systems. Known for its innovation and robust machinery, Fornnax has a strong presence in the global recycling market, offering technology that ensures efficient and environmentally-friendly processing of end-of-life tires.
The expansion into Australia follows the country’s ban on exporting whole baled tires and aligns with Group CNJ’s strategy to meet the increasing demand for tire recycling. Group CNJ has been operating Tyre Collection Australia since 2018 and views the Australian market as a significant growth opportunity.
In addition, Group CNJ is developing a $2 million tire recycling plant in Chittoor, India, to further process shreds from its Australian operation. This facility, equipped with Fornnax’s R-4000 HD secondary shredders, will begin operations in 2024, supporting the group’s efforts to enhance its recycling capabilities in both the Indian and Australian markets.
