InnoVent Renewables Mexico has signed a Letter of Intent with ProDynamics, described as Mexico’s largest tire distributor, to expand tire recycling and tire pyrolysis capacity using IVR’s proprietary process. The proposed cooperation includes adding capacity in Monterrey for the processing of an additional 1 million passenger tires and developing further tire recycling and pyrolysis facilities in other Mexican states, including Guadalajara. IVR said the partnership would use ProDynamics’ nationwide tire distribution network to access end-of-life tires and convert them into renewable products such as pyrolysis oil, carbon black, recycled steel and gas. The companies said the project is intended to reduce emissions from end-of-life tires that would otherwise end up in landfills while supporting circular economy solutions in the regions where ProDynamics operates.

LOI covers additional capacity in Monterrey

The Letter of Intent includes plans to jointly expand tire pyrolysis capacity in Monterrey, Mexico, by an additional 1 million passenger tires. The companies said the project would use IVR’s proprietary tire pyrolysis process to convert end-of-life tires into valuable recovered products.

Further facilities planned in other Mexican states

The scope of the LOI also includes the establishment of additional tire recycling and pyrolysis facilities in other Mexican states, including Guadalajara. IVR said the objective is to place recycling and pyrolysis operations alongside ProDynamics’ facilities, helping create a more efficient feedstock collection and processing network.

ProDynamics network gives access to ELT supply

ProDynamics operates 81 tire distribution centers across Mexico, giving the partnership access to large volumes of end-of-life tires. Sergio Trevino, Managing Director of InnoVent Renewables Mexico, said IVR is excited to partner with ProDynamics, describing the company as environmentally forward-thinking and able to provide access to millions of ELTs.

Pyrolysis process to produce recovered materials

IVR said the planned tire pyrolysis facilities would produce pyrolysis oil, carbon black, recycled steel and gas. These outputs can support tire recycling, resource recovery and circular economy objectives by converting waste tires into secondary materials and energy products instead of sending them to landfill.

The project also reflects growing interest in tire pyrolysis as a route for managing end-of-life tires in markets where large tire distribution networks can support reliable feedstock supply. Access to consistent tire volumes is important for scaling pyrolysis operations and securing downstream markets for tire-derived oil, recovered carbon products, steel and gas.

Companies cite emissions and sustainability goals

Trevino said the goal is to set up tire recycling and pyrolysis facilities near ProDynamics locations, produce renewable products and reduce carbon emissions. Joel Cortes, CEO of ProDynamics, said the company looks forward to working with InnoVent Renewables to provide sustainable solutions and reduce emissions from end-of-life tires that end up in landfills.

Cortes said the project fits ProDynamics’ goals by bringing renewable solutions to the regions where the company operates. The LOI positions the companies to explore a wider tire recycling and pyrolysis network in Mexico, combining IVR’s technology with ProDynamics’ distribution footprint and end-of-life tire access.
