Liberty Tire Recycling and Walmart collaborate to recycle end-of-life tires
Decades of partnership between Liberty Tire Recycling - a prominent nation-wide network of tire recycling facilities in the United States – and Walmart demonstrate a prime example of circularity. Liberty Tire Recycling reports that the tires they collect from Walmart and Sam's Club Service Centers are repurposed into recycled rubber products, like rubber mulch and garden edging, that go right back onto shelves at those stores.
“When people talk about circular recycling, this is what it is all about,” said Amy Brackin, Senior Vice President of Sustainability at Liberty Tire Recycling.
Liberty Tire Recycling says it was excited to present at Walmart’s Annual Sustainability Milestone Summit last month, where they exhibited several of their sustainable, innovative recycled rubber products including parking stops, pavers, garden edging, mulch, playground mats, tree rings and more.
The company is proud to be part of Walmart's "Driving a Greener Tomorrow" initiative and tells more about the joint activities of the two companies in the article by Rubber News.
