Refined recovered Carbon Black (r2CB) holds significant potential beyond the traditional rubber value chain, paving the way for high-tech applications in industries such as electronics and photovoltaics. Current research under Weibold's Innovation program, in collaboration with Green Avengers, is investigating advanced treatments for rCB. These treatments include chemical modification, carbon enhancement, and highly sustainable adsorption techniques aimed at developing materials suitable for high-tech applications.
Focussing on the photosensitive and magnetic properties of rCB, the research has developed and tested methods which could lead to groundbreaking applications in the photovoltaic and other industry sectors.
This Weibold's presentation will report on the current status and findings of this research, highlighting potential new uses of rCB in high-tech industries and the associated sustainability benefits.
