Presentation Abstract
The recovered carbon black (rCB) sector is entering a significant phase of industrial scale-up, with APAC and the EU leading global capacity expansion. This presentation will highlight major pyrolysis projects, detailing current plant capacities, expansion timelines, and the leading suppliers that consistently deliver high-quality products with secure offtake arrangements.
The session will also address key QA/QC challenges for tire manufacturers, including the role of evolving ASTM standards and regulatory updates related to REACH, ISCC, and End-of-Waste frameworks.
On the technical side, rCB and sustainable carbon black (sCB) will be compared with virgin carbon black in semi-reinforcing applications, with a focus on advancements in tread formulations using hybrid rCB + vCB blends.
The presentation concludes with an outlook on how these developments will influence tire manufacturing and support the industry’s transition toward a more circular and sustainable future.
