February 23, 2026 – Karcag, Hungary — NE-TECH Group announces another significant construction milestone at its showcase Karcag pyrolysis facility, designed in partnership with oil giant MOL as a principal shareholder in the project. The successful completion of construction marks a decisive transition from accelerated project execution into the commissioning and operational readiness phase. Following the previously reported five-month delivery from groundwork to core plant, the project continues to progress in line with schedule and investment expectations.

Construction of the pyrolysis plant, including advanced flue gas purification systems and fully integrated online emissions monitoring, has now been finalized.

“Completing construction marks a critical inflection point for the Karcag project,” said Viktor Váradi, CEO of NE-TECH Group. “We are now fully focused on disciplined commissioning and operational readiness, ensuring that each system performs reliably and in line with our design assumptions as we transition toward stable, long-term operations.” The facility has been designed to meet and exceed applicable EU environmental standards, providing long-term regulatory certainty and operational resilience. Recent site imagery confirms the completion of all major process units and supporting infrastructure.

In parallel, NE-TECH is advancing the phased recruitment and training of the operating crew, leveraging structured programs aligned with commissioning activities and established operating procedures from its commercial pyrolysis track record. Finalization of control rooms, offices, and crew quarters is nearing completion, supporting readiness for continuous 24/7 operations.

Cold- and warm-start-up procedures for key plant components are underway as part of integrated commissioning, verifying process stability, safety systems, and operational performance. At the same time, installation and final setup of the recovered carbon black (rCB) processing line—including grinding, pelletizing, and drying—are close to completion, positioning the facility for diversified, market-ready product output and downstream value creation.

The Karcag plant is built around NE-TECH’s proprietary Continuously Revolving Charge Cycle (CrCC™) technology. Delivered as modular, pre-engineered units, the CrCC™ system underpins predictable execution, reduced EPCM exposure, and scalable industrial performance—supporting capital efficiency and risk-adjusted returns.

With construction complete and commissioning activities progressing across all major systems, the Karcag facility is poised to enter full operational mode in a phased, disciplined manner, reinforcing NE-TECH’s role as a reliable industrial partner in the circular economy. The plant is positioned as a core asset within NE-TECH’s expanding industrial partner network, supporting collaborations with MOL, GUNVOR, and Carbon Black Kft.

About NE-TECH Group

NE-TECH Group, founded in 2003 as New Energy Kft. and in commercial operation since 2007, is an innovative technology group. Its group companies specialize in developing and commercializing solutions for the circular economy. NE-TECH’s primary mission is to turn formerly untreatable polymer-based and organic waste streams into valuable raw materials for the petrochemical and rubber industry, thus addressing the unsustainable extraction of natural resources in an economically viable manner.

NE-TECH has developed and commercialized proprietary technology that converts waste tires into secondary raw materials to support the circular economy strategies of its partners and customers. The group also draws on two decades of operational experience in running a commercial pyrolysis plant through its group member, New Energy Recycling Kft.
