Dillingen / Saar, 20 November 2025Pyrum Innovations AG and SUAS Ecology s.r.o. have signed a shareholder agreement to establish a joint venture, SUAS reTIRE s.r.o., in the Czech Republic. Under the agreement, Pyrum will hold a 49% stake in the new entity, which plans to develop, build and operate a tire pyrolysis plant in Vřesová, near the German–Czech border.

According to the announcement, Pyrum has secured its equity contribution of approximately €8.6 million, representing a key step toward full project financing. The companies also finalized a ten-year purchase agreement for the pyrolysis oil to be produced at the future facility, which Pyrum describes as an important signal of confidence in the project’s long-term viability.

Next steps include concluding loan agreements with the financing bank in Czechia and finalizing the plant purchase contract. Orders for long-lead components are expected to begin by spring 2026, followed by ground-breaking and the start of construction. Once operational—scheduled for 2027—the facility is designed to process more than 22,000 metric tons of end-of-life tires annually.

Representatives from both companies highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership. Martin Čermák, Deputy Chairman of the SUAS Group and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sokolovská uhelná, noted that the agreement marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration aimed at advancing circular-economy solutions in the region. Pyrum CEO Pascal Klein emphasized that securing equity financing and the oil off-take agreement represents significant progress toward the project’s implementation.

The new plant will be integrated into the existing SUAS industrial site, where a power plant is already operating. SUAS reports that the gas produced during the pyrolysis process can be converted into electricity without additional investment, contributing to more efficient energy use at the site.

SUAS Group operates across energy, transportation, circular economy, real estate development and engineering. Its subsidiary Sokolovská uhelná is among the largest independent electricity producers in the Czech Republic and also provides thermal energy to households in the Karlovy Vary and Sokolov regions.
