Recykl Group visits Gaoyuan Road Industry Group to discuss tire recycling products for road applications
Representatives of Recykl Grupa S.A. visited Gaoyuan Road Industry Group in China on May 26 to discuss potential cooperation in road maintenance technologies and the use of tire recycling products in asphalt and bitumen applications. The meeting focused on green asphalt, road surface repair, maintenance and regeneration, as well as more efficient use of recycled tire materials such as rubber powder and textile fibers. The discussions brought together Recykl’s experience in tire recycling, rubber powder production, textile cord recovery and devulcanization with Gaoyuan’s expertise in road engineering, maintenance equipment and rubber-modified asphalt technologies.
Meeting focused on green asphalt and road maintenance
The meeting addressed technologies for the overhaul, maintenance and regeneration of road surfaces, with particular attention to green asphalt and bitumen solutions. The companies also discussed how tire recycling products can be used more effectively in road construction and maintenance. These materials include rubber powder recovered from end-of-life tires and textile fibers separated during tire recycling, both of which may have potential in selected infrastructure applications.
Recykl highlights rubber powder and textile fiber technologies
For Recykl Group, the discussion follows the company’s existing development direction in advanced applications for recycled tire materials. The company produces GreenPowder rubber powder and develops SMAPOL technology based on the use of textile cord recovered during the tire recycling process. Recykl also has experience in rubber devulcanization and optimization of tire recycling processes for applications in different industries, including road construction.
Gaoyuan brings road equipment and engineering expertise
Gaoyuan Road Industry Group is a Chinese manufacturer of road maintenance technologies and equipment. The company develops and produces road machinery under the ShengGong brand and has experience in international cooperation. Its technical base is supported by the National Laboratory of Road Maintenance Equipment Engineering, described as China’s only national innovation platform focused on this area.
Rubberized asphalt technologies discussed
One of the areas of interest was Gaoyuan’s experience in rubber asphalt modification technologies. These include solutions using stationary equipment as well as mobile intelligent systems for producing thin protective and functional road surface layers. Such technologies may create opportunities for the use of recycled tire rubber, including rubber powder, in rubberized asphalt and related road maintenance applications.
Potential cooperation combines tire recycling and road engineering
Recykl said the potential cooperation could combine complementary expertise from both companies. Recykl brings knowledge of tires, recycled tire materials and their further technological transformation, while Gaoyuan contributes experience in road technologies, equipment and practical implementation. The companies see potential to address technological barriers and support the development of more sustainable road surfaces using tire recycling products.
The discussions reflect growing interest in using recovered materials from end-of-life tires in road construction, including crumb rubber, rubber powder, textile fibers and other products from rubber recycling. Further development of such applications could support circular economy goals by creating higher-value outlets for tire recycling materials in infrastructure markets.
