A Spanish scrap tire collector and manager Signus revealed earlier this month during its traditional press-conference that it is adopting new rates starting March 1, 2020 in accordance with the planned reform of Royal Decree (RD) 1619/2005 regarding waste tires. During the press-conference, the company also stated that it was creating a sustainability label; the Director of Development and Innovation presented some trademarks to boost the sales of recycled rubber.

Tire producer Continental A.G will start applying recovered carbon black (rCB) obtained via tire pyrolysis method and produced by German Pyrolyx A.G. after two companies have reached a five-year deal. According to the contract, Pyrolyx will be supplying some 10,000 metric tons of rCB annually to Continental’s facilities in numerous countries. This will help Pyrolyx to increase its sales and grow in North America and eastern Europe as additional plants will be commissioned as part of the agreement.

Recovered carbon black producer Pyrolyx AG is ready to set a second pyrolysis facility which will be constructed in Terre Haute, US. This move comes after the company relocated its main office from German Munich to Terre Haute, Indiana. One pyrolysis plant has already been built in the US by Pyrolyx; the company says that the next facility will be very similar to the US-based tire pyrolysis plant.

Pyrolyx AG – an international tire pyrolysis operator – has now become an official supplier of recovered carbon black (rCB) of Continental AG as the two parties agreed to sign a 5-year contract ruling that about 15,000 metric tons of the product will be delivered every year. Nevertheless, Pyrolyx stated that the scope of the deal on the supplies might be increased if demand escalates.

The TIP plan created in 2005 is partly managed by Bridgestone, Goodyear and Michelin. Other big names, including Pirelli and Continental, are also involved in the initiative. Currently, it handles a quarter of UK’s market, which is staggering 180,000 retreaded tires annually. Thus, Bandvulc Group has gradually gained a status of the UK’s key fleet management service provider that also functions as a truck tire retreader.
