Initially, the UK government stated no plans to ban crumb rubber but has since initiated consultations on intentionally added microplastics. Professor Andrew Watterson from the University of Stirling has called for a ban on toxic 3G crumb rubber pitches in Scotland due to identified health hazards.

On March 28, Pyrum Innovations AG (Pyrum) published its trading update for Q4 2023 and preliminary figures for the full year 2023. According to the company's press release, sales increased by 17% year-on-year to EUR 1,147 thousand (2022: EUR 982 thousand).
