Scandinavian Enviro Systems AB (Enviro) has appointed Staffan Kullberg as new CFO. The appointment has been made to strengthen the company’s finance department in conjunction with the ongoing commercialisation and industrialisation of the company’s recycling technology. Staffan Kullberg has extensive experience within the field of finance and has previously held a number of senior positions in the Volvo Group, including as CFO of Volvo IT. He has also undertaken senior finance assignments for the investment company Ratos’s portfolio companies.

Pyrum Innovations AG (Pyrum) – a pioneer in the sustainable recycling of end-of-life tires (ELT) based on its pyrolysis technology – filed an application for a secondary listing in the Scale segment with Deutsche Börse AG in Frankfurt.

The Tire Cologne, which ended on Thursday, 26 May 2022, returned after a Covid imposed absence with a series of panels on tire recycling. Representatives of the renowned in tire recycling industry British magazines Tyre and Rubber Recycling and Retreading Business successfully presented at the Tyre Recycling Forum of The Tire Cologne.

The Renewable Transport Fuel Association of the UK (RTFA) reports that its thirteen members and Tyre Recovery Association (TRA) of the UK have built a collaboration to promote greater uptake of pyrolysis, an advanced chemical recycling technology. To achieve this, they are funding a consultancy to contribute to the Environment Agency’s review of recovery options for end-of-life tires. Specifically, the group is seeking to demonstrate that pyrolysis is a sufficiently thorough and environmentally-safe process, and that the products should be classified as resources, not waste.

Prospective attendees are invited to register for European Tyre Recycling Association’s (ETRA) Conference that is set to take place at the NH Collection, Grand Sablon in Brussels. The conference is an annual three-day event that will take place for the 27th time. It will see plenary sessions and discussions paying special focus on pyrolysis and the future of it. The speakers will share their reports on how markets for recycled tire products will be expanded. Attendees will learn which recycled rubber products may see the greatest demand in the new decade.

Pyrum Innovations AG (Pyrum) has published its 2021 annual financial statements and, for the first time, consolidated financial statements for 2021. In the past financial year 2021, the Group achieved a total output of EUR 3.7 million, an increase of 106% compared to the previous year (2020: EUR 1.8 million). In the reporting period, the total output mainly consists of own work capitalised in the amount of EUR 2.8 million and sales, which increased to EUR 0.9 million.

The machinery of the Italian tire recycling equipment supplier Salvadori will be used to ensure operations of tire downsizing, and recycling of about 30,000 tons of earthmover tires per year. The Michelin Group selected Salvadori Srl as the supplier for the downsizing system. This new-generation tire recycling plant is to be built in Chile; currently it is under construction in collaboration with Enviro, a Swedish company that has developed a patented technology for recycling tires into recover carbon black, oil, steel and gas using pyrolysis method. The plant will be based in Chile’s Antofagasta region. Salvadori's tire recycling technology will be used specifically to reduce the tire into pieces of predetermined dimensions which will then be further processed in the factory.

Robert Weibold GmbH is working with a Southern European End-of-Life Tire (ELT) pyrolysis operator to find a suitable off-taker for their raw rCB. The pyrolysis operator employs proprietary continuous technology/process, and their process is accredited/certified by prestigious certification bodies.
