For the sixth consecutive year, the collective end-of-life tyre management system, Signus, renewed its collaboration with the Real Madrid Foundation to support inclusive sports initiatives.

Commitment to wheelchair basketball in Getafe

In a meeting at the Real Madrid City auditorium, Real Madrid ambassador Felipe Reyes welcomed Gabriel Leal, General Director of Signus, to formalise the agreement’s renewal.

This collaboration played a key role in ensuring the continuation of the Real Madrid Foundation’s wheelchair basketball social sports school in Getafe, held at the Jorge Guillén Primary School. The programme provided a dozen children with physical disabilities, aged 8 to 20, with the opportunity to play sports, develop skills, and foster teamwork.

A partnership built on shared values

Signus demonstrated ongoing dedication to this initiative by visiting the beneficiaries each season. Felipe Reyes emphasised:

“Every training session and every moment on the court represents an opportunity to strengthen the autonomy, self-esteem, and teamwork of our beneficiaries.”

Promoting sustainability through sports

Six seasons ago, Signus joined other organisations supporting the Real Madrid Foundation’s Circular Economy projects. Together, they promoted values-based education through sports, integrating sustainability and environmental awareness into their social initiatives.

Since launching the wheelchair basketball social sports school programme in 2013, the Real Madrid Foundation had been committed to social inclusion and accessibility. Through this partnership, sports and sustainability came together to create positive change for both people and the environment.
