Sime Motors, one of Asia Pacific’s leading automotive companies, has announced the launch of a zero-waste tyre recycling programme in collaboration with Evergreen Corporate Sdn Bhd. Starting July 1, 2025, the initiative will be implemented across all Sime Motors dealerships in Peninsular Malaysia.

The programme is the first structured closed-loop tyre recycling effort by a Malaysian automotive retail group, aiming to significantly reduce the environmental impact of end-of-life tyres.

“This programme reflects our commitment to sustainability and innovation in waste management,” said Jeffrey Gan, Managing Director of Southeast Asia at Sime Motors. “With Evergreen Corporate’s advanced capabilities, we’re proud to lead the zero waste tyre recycling within the industry.”

Tyres collected from Sime Motors service centres—including brands such as BMW, MINI, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo, BYD, and others—will be processed at Evergreen’s facility using Advanced Thermal Recovery Green technology. The method enables 100% material recovery while keeping emissions low, transforming tyres into reusable industrial outputs such as carbon black, fuel oil, and steel.

Evergreen’s CEO Wan Afif Azizul commented, “This partnership is a significant milestone not just for Evergreen, but for the future of green technology in Malaysia.” Co-founder Kwang Meng Kian added, “This collaboration not only addresses the challenge of tyre disposal but does so using a solution that is clean, scalable and future-ready.”

Accredited with an ESG Gold rating by the Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad (MARC), Evergreen’s operations align with national environmental, social, and governance goals. The initiative ensures customers can service or purchase vehicles from Sime Motors with the assurance that their used tyres are recycled responsibly.
