From April 23 to 26, 2025, IFEMA Madrid hosted Motortec, Spain’s leading event for the automotive aftermarket. At this major industry gathering, TNU (Tratamiento Neumáticos Usados) presented its traveling exhibition, “Recycle and Smile”, an initiative designed to raise awareness about the importance of recycling used tyres and its positive impact on the environment and society.

Transforming waste into resources

As a key player in the circular economy, TNU ensured that 100 percent of tyre components—rubber, steel, and textile fiber—were recovered and repurposed into a wide range of innovative applications, including:

  • Fuel and energy solutions
  • Safety tiles for playgrounds
  • Artificial grass and athletics tracks
  • Footwear, hoses, roads, and guardrails

A commitment to sustainability

With global priorities shifting toward resource preservation and energy efficiency, tyre recycling provided an eco-friendly and energy-saving alternative that reduced waste while supplying valuable materials for new products.

Since its launch, “Recycle and Smile” had toured various Spanish cities, engaging thousands of people with its message that recycling is a key tool in combating climate change.
