Tyre Stewardship Australia meets Large Format Retail Association to advance end-of-life tire management
Last week, David Spear FAICD FAIM – the Chairman of Tyre Stewardship Australia (TSA) – met with Large Format Retail Association (LFRA) Members from across Australia to discuss the role of product stewardship, and how LFRA members can learn and be part of the sustainable management of end-of-life tires.
TSA highlights that "sustainability practices work best when partners like LFRA and stewardship schemes such as TSA work together to overcome barriers and share a common goal - to advance practices that contribute to a circular economy."
Who is Tyre Stewardship Australia
Tyre Stewardship Australia has been formed to implement the national Tyre Product Stewardship Scheme to promote the development of viable markets for end-of-life tires.
This will have the multiple benefits of transforming a waste product into a useful commodity, creating new industries and employment opportunities while also reducing the environmental harm caused by the illegal dumping of old tires.
TSA is made up of representatives from across the tyre supply chain including tyre retailers, manufacturers, recyclers and collectors. TSA members also include the Australian Motor Industry Federation.
