Tire and Rubber Association of Canada (TRAC) announces the addition of Tyromer Inc. as a new member. Headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, Tyromer’s proprietary rubber devulcanization technology converts scrap tire rubber crumb into Tire-Derived Polymer (TDP) that has a broad applicability and can be incorporated into most new rubber products including tires, retreads, conveyor belts, and general rubber goods.

“Tyromer and its technology have been on TRAC’s radar since the early stages of the organization’s efforts for commercialization, and we knew it was only a matter of time before TRAC would be able to welcome this company with its unique Canadian technology to TRAC ranks,” says Carol Hochu, President and CEO of TRAC. “Tyromer is a pioneer in the field of rubber devulcanization, and we look forward to a cooperative and lasting relationship that will be mutually beneficial.”

“Tyromer is excited to join TRAC,” says Dr. Sam Visaisouk, CEO of Tyromer. “TRAC has been supportive of our efforts in our early stages, and we look forward to working with TRAC in the areas of sustainability and advocacy as they relate to tire and rubber recycling, end-of-life tire management, and market development for recycled rubber in Canada to drive our initiatives globally.”

About Tyromer Inc.

Established in 2009, Tyromer Inc. operates two devulcanization facilities in Kitchener (within the AirBoss Rubber Solutions plant) and Windsor, Canada, and one in Arnhem, The Netherlands. AirBoss and KalTire helped Tyromer launch its TDP which is now used by Continental Tire, Apollo Tyres, and other leading tire producers. The Tyromer devulcanization technology is now used to devulcanize scrap EPDM for reuse in manufacturing. Tyromer uses a licensing business model to establish a global supply chain to service the global tire and rubber manufacturing industries.
