Swarnakaruna Princeton Rubber Industries Private Limited, a rubber recycling company based in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, has been highlighted by India’s Press Information Bureau as an example of how targeted financial support can help entrepreneurs build sustainable industrial businesses. Founded by Mrs. Swarnalatha Nethipudi, a first-generation Scheduled Caste woman entrepreneur, the company has established an automated facility that converts waste tires into crumb rubber powder ranging from 10 mesh to 40 mesh. The plant has an installed production capacity of about 6,000 metric tonnes per year and has recycled more than two lakh waste tires. The project received ₹5 crore in financial assistance in 2023 through the Venture Capital Fund for Scheduled Castes, under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, supporting a circular economy model based on rubber recycling, waste tire recovery, industrial raw material production and local employment.

Automated plant produces crumb rubber powder

Swarnakaruna Princeton Rubber Industries has set up an automated rubber recycling plant for processing waste tires into crumb rubber powder. The company produces crumb rubber in sizes ranging from 10 mesh to 40 mesh, creating value-added industrial raw materials from end-of-life tires.

The project addresses waste tire disposal while supporting circular economy practices. Crumb rubber can be used in different industrial applications, including rubber products, modified bitumen, roads, flooring, molded goods and other recycled rubber markets, depending on product specifications and customer demand.

VCF-SC provided ₹5 crore in financial assistance

The Venture Capital Fund for Scheduled Castes provided financial assistance of ₹5 crore to the enterprise in 2023. The support was structured through venture capital assistance, including equity and optionally convertible debentures.

According to the Press Information Bureau, this institutional support helped the company establish advanced crumb rubber manufacturing infrastructure. It also enabled the enterprise to secure a second round of funding from SIDBI, strengthening its growth trajectory.

Enterprise recycled more than two lakh waste tires

The financial support helped the company recycle more than two lakh waste tires and create assets worth approximately ₹8 crore. The enterprise has achieved a net worth of ₹2.09 crore, generated revenue of ₹4.36 crore and recorded profits of ₹4.60 crore, according to the government release.

The company has also developed industrial links with companies including TVS Sundaram and Hincol, expanding its market reach and supporting longer-term business sustainability.

Project creates local employment

Swarnakaruna Princeton Rubber Industries has generated direct employment for 15 people. This includes five Scheduled Caste employees and ten non-Scheduled Caste employees.

The project shows how rubber recycling enterprises can combine environmental benefits with employment generation. By converting waste tires into crumb rubber, the company supports sustainable manufacturing while creating livelihoods in the local community.

Mrs. Swarnalatha Nethipudi said support from the Venture Capital Fund for Scheduled Castes and the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment gave the enterprise the financial backing needed to turn an environmental challenge into a sustainable business opportunity.

She said Swarnakaruna Princeton Rubber Industries is converting waste tires into valuable industrial products, creating employment, promoting circular economy practices and contributing to a cleaner and greener India.
