Waste Energy Corp. has entered the final commissioning phase of its Midland Waste Conversion Infrastructure Campus in Texas, moving its first commercial waste conversion system toward targeted commissioning in mid-September 2026. The company said its lead commissioning engineer was scheduled to arrive in Midland on August 4 to begin final system integration, testing and startup activities. The milestone follows Waste Energy’s announcement that it had completed the first phase of the regulatory foundation for the campus. Once commissioning is completed, the Midland facility is expected to begin processing waste tire feedstock and producing marketable fuels, recovered carbon products, recyclable steel and other commodities. The project is part of the company’s Texas-first strategy to build scalable environmental infrastructure for diverting tire and plastic waste streams from landfills and converting them into saleable recovered materials.

Final integration and startup work begins

Waste Energy said the commissioning phase will include final system integration, testing and startup activities for its first commercial waste conversion system. The company continues to target mid-September 2026 for commissioning of the Midland campus.

Over the past year, the company said it has assembled strategic property, completed site improvements, installed major processing equipment, secured regulatory approvals and expanded the campus footprint to support future growth.

After commissioning, the Midland site is expected to begin commercial processing operations and serve as a model for future Waste Energy campuses in Texas. The company said its long-term strategy includes identifying high-volume waste markets, securing regulatory approvals, developing environmental infrastructure assets and replicating its operating model in additional locations.

Facility to process waste tires into recovered products

Waste Energy said the Midland campus will process waste tire feedstock and produce marketable fuels, recovered carbon products, recyclable steel and other valuable commodities. The project therefore links tire recycling, resource recovery and waste conversion infrastructure, with a focus on diverting end-of-life tires from landfills and illegal dumping.

Recovered outputs from tire conversion systems can support several downstream markets depending on process quality, product specifications and customer demand. These may include recovered fuels, carbon products, recycled steel and other materials used in industrial applications.

Community tire collection diverted more than 1,200 tires

Waste Energy also highlighted its participation in a Midland County community tire recycling and beautification event on July 25. The company said the event helped divert more than 1,200 end-of-life tires from potential landfill disposal and illegal dumping in the Permian Basin.

Gallagher said environmental infrastructure is not only about building facilities, but also about becoming a long-term partner to local communities. He said the Midland County event showed the kind of community-level impact the company intends to support as it expands operations across Texas.

Texas growth strategy tied to waste infrastructure demand
