AER and Grupo Soledad to adopt Spanish ELT management model in Mexico
Salvador Pérez Lucena, president of the Spanish Association of Tire Recycling (AER) and Global Chief Sales Officer of Grupo Soledad’s Industrial Division, will speak at the 1st Annual Meeting of the Rubber Sector, organized by the National Chamber of the Rubber Industry (CNIH), on Monday, February 16, at the Club de Industriales in Polanco, Mexico City.
Sharing the Spanish ELT Experience
Pérez Lucena’s presentation, titled “The Spanish End-of-Life Tyre Management Model and its Replicability in Mexico,” comes at a time when Mexico is updating regulations to foster a circular economy. He will outline how to structure a robust, traceable, and financially sustainable tyre management system covering the entire lifecycle—from market introduction to disposal—with a focus on reuse, recycling, and recovery, supported by monitoring and reporting mechanisms.
The presentation will also highlight associative models based on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), such as Collective Systems (ESPR), exemplified by TNU. These systems enable importers to pool resources to finance tyre management, guarantee traceability, and achieve verifiable objectives within a stable, auditable framework.
Grupo Soledad’s Integrated Tyre Lifecycle Approach
Salvador Pérez Lucena will showcase Grupo Soledad as a fully integrated industrial company managing the complete tyre lifecycle—from import and distribution to retreading, collection, and end-of-life recovery. The group also produces high-value products from recycled materials while maintaining traceability and operational efficiency across all stages.
An important part of this system is Recycla, Grupo Soledad’s industrial platform specializing in ELTs. Recycla provides technical and operational expertise to transform end-of-life tyres into valuable materials and connect them with end-use applications, effectively turning an environmental challenge into a verifiable industrial process.
Event Highlights
The meeting will also feature notable participants including Jonathan Heath, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Mexico, and Jaime Zabludovsky Kúper, Executive Vice President and Founding Partner of IQOM Inteligencia Comercial.
