The initiative Alliance Zukunft Reifen (AZuR) presents itself as a pioneer in tire circular economy at the heart of the "Circular Economy" theme at THE TIRE COLOGNE 2024. From June 4th to 6th, 2024, the international tire and wheel industry will gather at the fair in Cologne to showcase new developments in the field of tires and rims. This year, for the first time, there will be a dedicated section for the "Circular Economy" theme on the platform. 16 AZuR partners will inform visitors about all segments of sustainable tire circular economy at the joint stand in Hall 7.

According to AZuR, sustainability has been gaining momentum in the tire industry for years. The Circular Economy plays a central role in this context. With around 70 partners from industry, trade, politics, and science, AZuR has been advocating for sustainable tire circular economy in Germany and Europe for years. From sustainable new tire manufacturing to retreading and material and chemical recycling, AZuR partners cover all aspects of the Circular Economy in the tire industry. Visitors can learn about tire circular economy and engage with numerous partners at the 450-square-meter AZuR stand. Sustainability was a priority in equipping the booth: special thanks to the company MRH Mülsen for providing the reusable floor made from recycled used tires. The catering, offering regional drinks and snacks, is also aligned with the sustainable concept.

Used Tire Recycling in Europe

To amplify the Alliance's voice at the European level and influence relevant regulations, AZuR has prepared a used tire resolution. Companies can register on the AZuR website and support the resolution HERE. The goal is to establish the material pyramid as the basis of economic action and to recycle all tires used in the European Union within the EU. The official signing of the used tire resolution will take place at the AZuR booth at THE TIRE COLOGNE on June 4, 2024, at 2:45 p.m., for which supporters can optionally register.
