According to the latest Smithers' press release, the Carbon Black World 2023 Conference, organized by Smithers and supported by the local host partner Jiangxi Black Cat, was a great success. 20+ speakers and 400+ delegates joined the conference in Jingdezhen, 11-14 April 2023.

The conference brought together an international audience that spanned the entire value chain, including producers, end-users, equipment suppliers, and solution providers across the tire, rubber, plastics, compounds, and ink industries.

Featuring "Exploring innovations and sustainability in Carbon Black value chain", the two-day plenary included 5 sessions:

  • Global Market Overview for Carbon Black,
  • End Uses and Applications of Carbon Blacks,
  • Global Regulation and Standard Updates and Impacts,
  • Carbon Black Manufacturing and Greening Feedstock and Materials and Technical breakthroughs,
  • Opportunities in Carbon Black Value Chain.

More than 20 speakers shared their firsthand insights and collaborative ideas in person or virtually and more than 400 delegates joined the conference.

The panel discussion on ‘Collaboration throughout the carbon black value chain with the context of the "3060" dual carbon targets’ provided a comprehensive outlook on the future of the collaboration throughout the carbon black value chain from industry stakeholders including Continental Tires China, China Rubber Industry Association, Qingdao Black Cat and RISUN.

“As the highest-level conference of the world carbon black industry, Carbon Black World was held in Jingdezhen, China for the first time. The success of the conference strengthened the connection between China and the world carbon black industry, and pointed out the direction for the future development of Black Cat.”, said Mr. Wei Ming, Chairman of Black Cat Carbon Black.

Next year, the conference will be held in Europe.
