Grupa Recykl plans expansion in Europe with second acquisition targeted in Germany
Grupa Recykl is planning to expand its operations in Europe, following the recent acquisition of Lithuanian company APG, which collects and transports used tires across the Baltic States. The Polish tire recycling company now plans to finalize a second acquisition in Germany in the second half of 2025. The company has completed due diligence and is negotiating final terms, with support from a EUR 6 million foreign expansion loan agreement with PFR TFI.
The integration of APG marks a strategic entry point into the Scandinavian market, which Grupa Recykl sees as having significant potential—estimated at around 200,000 tonnes of tires annually. Although APG currently handles only logistics, the company is considering building a modern recycling facility in the region as part of its long-term development plan.
"Looking more strategically, we want to systematically strengthen our market position on the map of Europe and increase export sales, including to other continents," says Maciej Jasiewicz, CEO.
He adds: "We need to develop, think and realize expansion and set new goals, even though the market environment is not easy. Thanks to the steps implemented in this way, we gain access to new markets with the possibility of obtaining raw material, often on more favorable terms, and with the possibility of increasing the volume of tire processing in the future."
Grupa Recykl operates several modern production sites in Poland with a total annual processing capacity of 140,000 tonnes of tires, supported by a nationwide network of collection points. Its growth strategy includes investments in innovation, energy efficiency, and sustainable infrastructure—such as the recently expanded solar PV farm in Śrem and another planned in Krosno Odrzańskie.
