According to Liberty Tire Recycling – one of the biggest tire recycling companies in the United States, – roads in Floyd County, Georgia, will soon be smoother and more environmentally friendly for drivers, thanks to a Georgia EPA grant for repaving with asphalt enhanced by Liberty Tire’s SmartMIX™.

A short test-strip will be paved in spring 2024 before the county begins the full project. Once implemented, the rubberized asphalt will create safer, more resilient roadways. In addition to recycling thousands of end-of-life tires, SmartMIX™ will reduce friction and tire wear for Floyd County drivers, keeping existing tires on the road longer.
