RPRA launches Ontario Recycles website to support recycling in province
Resource Productivity and Recovery Authorityya (RPRA) has launched Ontario Recycles, a new website designed to provide public information about the circular economy, recycling and resource recovery in Ontario.
The website covers provincial recycling programs overseen by RPRA, including batteries, electronics, household hazardous waste, lighting, tires and Blue Box materials.
Ontario Recycles provides information on which materials can be recycled and where residents can recycle them. The website also includes access to RPRA’s Where to Recycle map, which helps users find recycling locations across the province.
Website includes data on material recovery
In addition to public recycling guidance, Ontario Recycles provides data on the amount of material recovered and processed each year through Ontario’s recycling programs.
The website is intended to support RPRA’s commitment to providing Ontarians with information on resource recovery, waste reduction and recycling programs in the province.
RPRA separates public and regulatory information
RPRA said OntarioRecycles.ca and RPRA.ca are designed for different audiences.
Ontario Recycles is intended for residents and other users looking for general information about what and where to recycle in Ontario, including materials such as tires, electronics, batteries and household hazardous waste.
RPRA.ca will continue to provide detailed regulatory information for registrants, including requirements related to Ontario’s recycling and resource recovery framework.
The new website is available at OntarioRecycles.ca.
