Enviro’s joint venture together with Antin Infrastructure Partners and Michelin – Infiniteria – has appointed Kajsa Ryttberg-Wallgren as the new CEO. Kajsa Ryttberg-Wallgren most recently comes from the green steel company Stegra, where since 2021 they have been responsible for growth in the role of Chief Growth Officer. Ryttberg-Wallgren has extensive experience in industrial operations and in establishing new businesses worldwide after previous leading roles in several Scandinavian companies, including PIAB, Yara International, Sandvik, and Sapa.

Michelin announced the full deployment of TreadEye, a proprietary technology developed to enhance the retread process and deliver measurable value to fleets. After a period of phased implementation, TreadEye is now available across the Michelin Retread Technologies franchise network in the United States.

Enviro has completed the delivery and installation of five pyrolysis reactors for its tire recycling plant in Uddevalla, Sweden. The company confirmed that the work was carried out on schedule. "With the delivery of the fifth and final reactor, all equipment included in the main process is now in place and fully assembled," said Fredrik Emilson, CEO of Enviro.

The European Union has made the transition to more sustainable mobility, one of its top priorities. Adopted in April 2024, the Euro 7 regulation represents a major step forward, by introducing, for the first time, particle emission thresholds for tire wear — a measure Michelin fully supports.

Tyre-to-tyre recycling is still more of an exception than the rule. Yet new technologies are proving it can be done. One of the most ambitious initiatives in this space is BlackCycle, an EU-funded project that set out to build a fully circular value chain — from end-of-life tyre collection to the production of new tyres. Murfitts Industries and tyre giant Michelin have announced a project to process old tyres, recovering the energy and materials within them. As part of the project, Murfitts, the UK’s largest tyre recycling company, has submitted plans to set up a tyre reprocessing site at Michelin’s Stoke-on-Trent premises. The “cutting-edge” process developed by Murfitts will reportedly generate energy which will be used to power Michelin’s production on site, thereby lowering CO2 emissions from the factory by 1,500 tonnes per year. In addition to the energy recovered, the process will also produce recovered carbon black (rCB) and tyre pyrolysis oil (TPO).
