During the two-day Workshop on Plastics, Rubber and Recycling on October 1-2, 2024, in Valencia, AIMPLAS and ETRA are going to provide an environment of collaboration, learning and networking among industry professionals. The first day will be marked by parallel sessions including project presentations, networking opportunities and lab visits.

On 26 September 2023 the EU Commission adopted the decision to ban the sale of polymeric materials for infill, starting from 15 October 2031. This decision is creating concerns among end users about possible limitation of the use of artificial fields. On May 16, 2024, the RE-PLAN CITY LIFE Project will participate in the FORUM BUYGREEN event in Rome. At this event, a WORLD CAFÉ session focusing on Recycled Tyre Materials (RTMs) will take place, facilitating discussions with Regions and Metropolitan Cities. The aim is to identify policy tools within regional strategies that promote greater utilization of RTMs in various sectors such as Building Constructions, Transport, Sports Infrastructures, and Street Furniture. Partners such as ETRA, ECOSISTEMI, the Polytechnic of Turin, the University of Turin, and the Metropolitan City of Turin, renowned for their expertise in RTM usage, will be present.

In the frame of the 29th ETRA Conference on Tyre Recycling a lively workshop by RE-PLAN CITY LIFE project "Recycled materials and Public works: How to reduce the gap?" will be held on April 17, 2024. The workshop will illustrate the tools put in place by the project to stimulate a stronger engagement from the Public Authorities to adopt best practices and Green Procurement.

Rubberized asphalt is one of the most significant applications for recycled tyre rubber. In the United States this type of use dates back to the 1950s where today it represents a consolidated market. In Brazil the main highway is using asphalt binders modified by tyre rubber powder, and currently Cbb Asfaltos, a Brazilian company, who received a Green Patent for the process from the Brazilian Government, has the best technology in Latin America for this process.

During the recent 2023 Recircle Awards ceremony on the 16th of November 2023, 20 winners were announced. Among the winners, a very-well deserved recognition received Jean-Paul Bouysset, Senior Consultant for Rubber Products Pyrolysis at the European Tyre Recycling Association (ETRA), who received a Lifetime Achievement Award 2023.

With the support of the Metropolitan City of Turin an international workshop on rubberized asphalt will be held on 28 September 2023, from 16.00 to 18.30, in Corso Inghilterra 7, Turin. The workshop will give a clear and updated picture of the limits and opportunities of the use of Rubberised Asphalt in Europe.

With the support of the POLITECNICO of TURIN an international workshop on the Use of Recycled Tyre Materials (RTMs) will be held on 29 September 2023 from 9.30 to 15.30, in Corso Duca degli Abruzzi 24, Turin. The EU Circular Economy Principles for Buildings Designs underline the importance, among the others on the use of recycled materials and their further recyclability.
