According to TradeArabia News Service, Oman's Sur will get a $215.87 million rubber powder facility. In order to establish a rubber processing plant with an investment value of RO83 million ($215.87 million) for phase one of the project, Sur Industrial City, a subsidiary of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), has signed an investment contract with Al Fairuz Projects and Investments.

The tire waste management scheme, RepakELT launched in Ireland two years ago demonstrated effectiveness as the country managed to recycle 97 percent of scrap tires during the first year of the project, the Irish Minister for Communications, Climate Action and the Environment, Richard Bruton T.D. said in a recent report.
