The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) recently published a press release about its organizing the 12th edition of its Annual Rubber Conference on October 7, 2019. The Government of Indonesia is hosting the conference in Yogyakarta. In its press release, ANRPC highlights that the smallholder-dominated natural rubber (NR) production sector has limitations to adopt the sustainability norms for NR which are initiated and largely set by the automotive tire manufacturing industry.

The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) released Natural Rubber Trends & Statistics for April 2019. The total volume of natural rubber (NR) produced in the world amounted to 3.954 million tonnes during the first four months of 2019. It fell 5.1% from 4.165 million tonnes recorded during the same period in previous year. The world consumption of NR have improved during this reference period. It grew 1.0%, year-to-year, from 4.544 million tonnes to 4.591 million tonnes.

The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) revealed in its new report on the NR trends observed in March this year that the global manufacturing dropped slightly over 5 percent. In overall, the production of NR was estimated at 2.989 million tons. This declining trend was attributed to cold weather and predominantly low rubber prices set in a number of countries by agrarians. Moreover, the report mentioned leaf fall disease that targeted South Sumatra alleging that this could have negatively impacted the NR production.

The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) presented its new data on natural rubber (NR) in which it stated that the NR global production dropped 5.8 percent during first two month of 2019. This drop represents over 2 million tons of the valuable material. According to ANRPC, the decline is a result of the tropical storm that recently hit Thailand. Moreover, some other states witnessed unfavorable conditions for rubber trees during early winter season which also resulted in the manufacture drop. In addition, the organization suspects that the outbreak of a new severe fungal leaf-fall disease targeting plants in Sumatra affected the production.

The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) reports that in 2018, world production of natural rubber (NR) accounted for 13.960 million tonnes, which means an increase of 4.6% in output compared to 13.350 million tons in the last year tons. Meanwhile, the world demand recorded an increase of 5.2% (in year-to-year terms) amounting to 14.017 million tons in 2018. According to ANRPC, this led to a deficit in demand of 57,000 tons of NR during the period.

Commenting on the removal process of 500,000 scrap tires, Victorian Environment Minister Lily D’Ambrosio said that approximately 10 weeks would be required to complete the clean-up. After the removal, tires will end up at tire recycling plant Tyrerecycle in Melbourne where they will be shredded into crumb rubber and rubber powder or converted into tire-dervied fuel.

The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) has released the Natural Rubber Trends & Statistics for October 2018. According to ANRPC, the world demand of natural rubber (NR) from January 2018 to October 2018 recorded at 11.696 million tonnes, an increase of 5.2% from the same corresponding period a year earlier. While, the world production charted a 5.5% growth to 11.468 million tonnes. This resulted to a short of 228,000 tonnes of NR during the reference period.

The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) claims that the growth was driven by the recovery in crude oil prices, mid-term supply concerns, new expectations of a faster-paced global economic recovery led by the U.S. All these factors improve outlook for natural rubber demand. According to a statement from ANRPC the crude oil price recovery impact was caused by OPEC’s deal on the 30th of November 2016, which stipulates cut in output by 1.2 million barrels per day during the 1st half of 2017.

By mid-May all price-gains made earlier in the second quarter in the Natural Rubber markets, have been completely diminished. Since then some significant hikes have been recorded in Thailand, Japan, China and Malaysia. However, in overall markets are still far behind the peaks reached in April, which suggests that the attempt by the producer-country to rebalance the market is losing strength.
