Pyrum Innovations AG (Pyrum), a pioneer in the sustainable recycling of end-of-life tires (ELT) based on its patented pyrolysis technology, is closing material cycles together with BASF SE and Mercedes-Benz AG. For this purpose, Pyrum supplies the cooperation partner BASF SE with pyrolysis oil, which is used in combination with biomethane as a raw material in the production of virgin plastics for Mercedes-Benz vehicle components.

Pyrum Innovations AG and Ralf Bohle GmbH (Schwalbe brand) have presented a new recycling system for used bicycle tires at the start of the world's largest bicycle trade fair Eurobike in Frankfurt. The "Schwalbe Recycling System", which was developed in close cooperation with the TH Köln (University of Applied Sciences), enables the integrated recycling of used tires of all brands.

Under the company name REVALIT GmbH, a recycling plant with a capacity of 20,000 tons of used tyres is to be operated in the port of Straubing near the Danube from 2024. The planned location is characterized by excellent connections to the road network and also offers the possibility of transporting the goods to and from the site by rail and ship. Straubing thus represents an ideal location for the implementation of the environmentally oriented business approach. Besides Pyrum, the shareholders of REVALIT GmbH will be the Munich-based companies MCapital GmbH, TEXTOR GmbH and Auer Holding GmbH, each with 25%. The contract for the start of the development activities and the start of the work for the required approval documents was concluded today. Preliminary discussions with the authorities have already taken place. The signing of a reservation agreement with the landowner will take place immediately after the entry of the company in the commercial register. Initial financing discussions with banks are currently underway.

The aim of the partnership is to further promote, optimise and scale Pyrum's pyrolysis plants technologically and economically with Siemens' digitalisation and automation portfolio. Pyrum and Siemens share the goal of developing sustainable technologies as well as promoting their respective economic growth.

Pyrum Innovations AG reports further progress in the European Union’s BlackCycle project. On 24 May 2022, the successful completion of the trial campaign was celebrated. In this campaign, various process conditions regarding the composition of ELT, the temperature profile and the residence time were first extensively researched on a laboratory scale. After successful determination of the optimal reaction parameters, several experimental campaigns on an industrial scale followed.

Pyrum Innovations AG (Pyrum) has published its 2021 annual financial statements and, for the first time, consolidated financial statements for 2021. In the past financial year 2021, the Group achieved a total output of EUR 3.7 million, an increase of 106% compared to the previous year (2020: EUR 1.8 million). In the reporting period, the total output mainly consists of own work capitalised in the amount of EUR 2.8 million and sales, which increased to EUR 0.9 million.
