Grupa Recykl is planning to expand its operations in Europe, following the recent acquisition of Lithuanian company APG, which collects and transports used tires across the Baltic States. The Polish tire recycling company now plans to finalize a second acquisition in Germany in the second half of 2025. The company has completed due diligence and is negotiating final terms, with support from a EUR 6 million foreign expansion loan agreement with PFR TFI.

With Liberty's access to tires and Bolder's technology and customer pipeline, the partnership is expected to make a meaningful impact across the globe. This November, Bolder Industries, Inc. Bolder’s press release says these two world leaders in end-of-life tire solutions join forces to provide immediate circular solutions and sustainable raw materials to rubber, plastic, and petrochemical businesses.

The BVSE – a German association of tires & rubber recycling and disposal specialists – has exchanged views with the German Federal Environment Agency, Umweltbundesamt (UBA), on the reorganization of tire recycling.

It was agreed during the BVSe annual general meeting in September 2021 to form a Tire Recycling Association under the BVSe grouping. With Vice President and Chairman of the Association, Bernd Franken, committed to the industry's interests, this new professional association has a seat and a vote on the BVSe Committee.

Despite all announcements about rising prices for new tires, French used tire collection and management company Aliapur exhibits stability and succeeds on the tire recycling arena. According to a statement of the company, “eco-contribution” will remain the same for all tire categories. Thus, the levy remains to be EUR 1.25 for all passenger car tires which add up to some two thirds of the total annual volume of collection. Due to this decision, the levy will remain untouched and will be maintained at the level of the last two years. In fact, this means a persistent decline in contributions for over ten years. Aliapur reckons that this fact reflects the degree of efficiency of how tire recycling in France is structured. Albeit, Aliapur is ready for further optimization: namely in some areas between collection in skips and manual collection, as well as alternative means to recycle end-of-life tires.

Wastefront AS, the Norwegian waste tire recycling company, has announced a strategic partnership with innovative EV tire company ENSO, which will see ENSO incorporate Wastefront’s recycled carbon black (rCB) in its tires from 2024.

Canadian authorities have eased the procedure for tire fee changes proposals in the province of Alberta. The new system will allow the tire recycling industry to operate more effectively on unstable market. Earlier, these changes had to be approved by the cabinet, thus it was a lengthy and complicated process.
