Weibold's team was recently enriched by a Senior Pyrolysis Consultant with a vast experience in the end-of-life tire pyrolysis business – Henry Kim. Henry Kim is a business executive professional, Co-Founder and Former CEO of Anothen WTE, a tire pyrolysis company operating in South Korea. Henry has over 20 years of business development experience with expertise in all aspects of resources and renewable energy, as well as solid waste management projects. He has fully managed several sizable tire pyrolysis factories worldwide from construction to operations to financial assessment and contract negotiations. Today, Henry is a recognized authority on renewable energy, resource recovery such as rCB production, municipality incinerating and environmental technologies, including their applications and product sales markets.

Enviro – a renowned tire pyrolysis equipment manufacturer who targets recovered carbon black and fuel oil – reports that its pyrolysis technology is in high demand in the North American market. The company currently has active memorandums of understanding (MoU’s) with three different parties in the tire recycling industry, as well as ongoing discussions with additional interested parties. CEO Thomas Sörensson and the Enviro team recently returned home from the US where they visited, among others, partners in the states of New York and Texas where recycling plants are planned to be built. “There are several reasons why we are more active than ever in North America. The market’s need for carbon black is expected to increase as the establishment of virgin production is becoming increasingly difficult due to stricter regulations and penalties, implemented to overcome the environmental problems created by the existing carbon black production”, says Thomas Sörensson.

Throughout his career, he has been analyzing petroleum products and participating in leading R&D projects in the carbon black industry. A graduate of an MSc program in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Mumbai, Yogesh worked with carbon black production technologies and feedstock, focused at final product applications. Working as a lab analyst, quality assurance officer, research associate, laboratory manager, technical and product development manager, he supported Gharda Chemicals, Geo Chemical Laboratories Pvt., Birla Carbon, Phillips Carbon Black and BKT Carbon.

Continental, a premium tyre manufacturer, is consistently expanding its activities in the area of circular economy. To this end, the premium tire manufacturer has signed a development agreement with Pyrum Innovations, a specialist in the pyrolysis of end-of-life tires.

The European Rubber Journal (ERJ) reports that tire recycling is gaining a "remarkable traction" in the EU. Max Craipeau, the leader of the BIR says that tires and rubber have quickly developed into "one of the most dynamic divisions of the recycling business." According to Max Craipeau, who is also a head of Greencore Resources Ltd. in Hong Kong, the demand for recycled rubber is expected to grow five times in Europe over the next 25 years. Tires and rubber, often considered to be the "poor relation" of recycling, have suddenly emerged as "one of the most dynamic parts of the recycling industry," Craipeau stated at a meeting of the Bureau of International Recycling's (BIR) tires & rubber committee on May 31.

The company’s earnings and financial position in the 2024 financial year continued to be characterised by investments at the headquarters in Dillingen and orders for system components with long delivery times for the new site in Perl-Besch. Investments were also made in expanding the workforce and further developing the organisational structure.
