MOL and Tatneft, one of the largest oil and gas companies in Russia, have solemnly launched a joint project for a rubber bitumen plant in the Republic of Tatarstan. According to MOL, the project partly involves end-of-life recycling. The companies have also agreed to establish a joint venture that, besides manufacturing and selling rubber bitumen, will also be authorized to market MOL's technology license in the Commonwealth of Independent States. The investment is partly financed by the HEPA Hungarian Export Promotion Agency tender funding.

Econeu is a novel collective waste management solution for tires that have reached the end of their useful life, launched in Chile. Econeu SpA was formed by a group of 26 Chilean tire and vehicle importing companies with the goal of implementing and developing a collective end-of-life tire management system that will allow tire manufacturers to comply with the EPR Law (No. 20,920) and the Ministry of the Environment's Supreme Decree No. 8, which establishes end-of-life tire collection and recycling goals, as well as other obligations associated with this end-of-life tires.

ShipInsight – an online magazine focused on ship operation, ship management and marine journalism – reports that an energy and commodity trader Vitol and Wastefront, the Norwegian waste tire pyrolysis company, have announced a 10-year offtake agreement for the production of liquid hydrocarbons (pyrolytic fuel oil) and certain non-liquid products which will be produced at Wastefront’s first waste tire pyrolysis plant in Sunderland, UK, on its completion in 2023. In addition to the offtake agreement, Vitol and Wastefront have also established a framework agreement for the 10-year offtake from future end-of-life tire pyrolysis plants to be developed and built by Wastefront.

Fornnax Technology, a global leader in recycling equipment manufacturing, has been honored with the prestigious Green Innovation of the Year award at the 8th Indian Cement Review (ICR) Awards 2025. The award recognizes the SR-MAX2500 Primary Shredder, an advanced solution that is transforming municipal solid waste (MSW) recycling and refuse-derived fuel (RDF) production, helping cement and waste-to-energy industries reduce their reliance on fossil fuels.

Mathe Group, a South African company that recycles radial truck tires, has obtained a new Waste Management License for its new tire recycling facility worth over R65 million. The facility will complement its successful existing operation. Dr. Mehran Zarrebini, CEO of Mathe Group and its sister company Van Dyck, reveals ongoing negotiations with a potential investor, with the final investment amount contingent on the technology chosen. Simultaneously, Mathe Group is expanding its current facility, set to be operational in August. This expansion will boost their rubber crumb output from 25-30 tons to 45 tons and increase tire recycling from 700 radial truck tires daily to approximately 1,000 per day.

Recently, New Zealand’s Tyrewise released Milestone 2 report, which details its operational results from January to March 2025. Mark Gilbert, Chair of Auto Stewardship New Zealand said Tyrewise is on route to meeting its targets and contributing to sustainable tyre management. Tyrewise is showing strong operational results, ongoing improvements to systems, and is engaged in developing strategies to address gaps in infrastructure and market demand for tyre derived products and fuel.
