BIR 2023 World Recycling Convention – a three-day gathering of internationally recognized experts in recycling and sustainability – to be held on May 22 – 24 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The twice-yearly meetings of the BIR Tyres & Rubber Committee have earned an enviable reputation over many years for the quality of the information provided and for their breadth of coverage. In addition to offering an expert dissection of latest market trends and of the latest array of challenges confronting the sector, the meetings have also become synonymous for showcasing the cutting edge of research and technology developments, including latest progress towards enhancing the recycled content of tires.

The second Tyre Recycling Forum at The Tire Cologne, 9th – 12th June 2020, will be a two-day open conference with eight panels of key interest to the tyre recycling sector and the tyre and rubber market. Tyre Stewardship Australia (TSA) – Australian end-of-life tire recycling and management authority – invites you to have a listen to ‘Helixtapping the Industry’ podcast, where TSA’s Science & Innovation Advisor, Dr Linda Mitchell, PhD discusses the rubber market and circular economy for end-of-life tires, the factors affecting rubber prices, sustainability, and their hopes for the future of the rubber industry, alongside fellow International Rubber Study Group (IRSG) leaders. ‘Helixtapping the Industry’ podcast is a monthly overview and forecast of the rubber industry and greater commodities space created by Helixtap Technologies, the pioneers of groundbreaking, AI-driven price and market intelligence for the rubber industry.

CTS Tyre Recycling from Western Australia has marked the beginning of a major change towards sustainability in the company's history. CTS had a great turn out at its ground breaking ceremony the 12th August with State Environment Minister Reece Whitby MLA and federal MP Josh Wilson in attendance.

"Improperly stored waste tires are a fire hazard and can serve as a breeding ground for disease-carrying mosquitoes, creating environmental and public health threats," said EPA Director John J. Kim. "The Illinois EPA will continue to regulate the proper storage and management of used tires in Illinois and will continue to conduct forced removal action when used or waste tires threaten residents and our environment."

Zeppelin Systems GmbH has partnered with French waste-tire sorting company Regom to deliver integrated tire recycling systems employing artificial intelligence (AI) technology. According to Zeppelin Systems’press release, every three seconds, a fully automatic tire sorting machine determines the future of a used car tire; therefore, the French company Regom's technology manages around 800 tires per hour. This is made possible with the help of AI, which evaluates tire sidewall images at lightning speed after measurement and determines exact features and further use of scrap tires. The results are a high-accuracy detection rate of the tire’s brand, model, profile, size and wear.

Michelin is inviting everyone interested in tire recycling and sustainability to take part in the first Workshop of the European BlackCycle project! The AXELERA cluster is a partner of the BlackCycle project, coordinated by Michelin, the objective of which is to create, develop and optimize a complete value chain for recycling end-of-life tires, in the form of material first to reduce the impact on the environment. This free workshop will be an opportunity to present the state of progress of the project but also to discuss with the stakeholders interested and involved in the creation of this value chain. The workshop will be held on November 22, 2021 at MICHELIN CAMPUS RDI in Cebazat, France. To attend the workshop, make sure to register before November 12.
