Tire Recycling Forum – a major event dedicated to problems of tire recycling and pyrolysis – will be held on June 10-11, 2020 as part of The Tire Cologne. The event is organized by Ewan Scott – chief editor of Tyre and Rubber Recycling magazine. Last events proved to be great success and this time it is scaling up – six giants of the tire industry will take part in the Tire Cologne in Germany, Koelnmesse has recently confirmed. Tire producers such as Hankook, Nexen and other prominent industry players will also attend the event, which will host various conferences and seminars.

Australian company Green Distillation Technologies (GDT) specialized in scrap tire recycling has signed an agreement with New Zealand’s CarbonScape, high value carbon products manufacturer. This move will enable GDT to transform its recycled carbon into valuable graphite which is the most stable form of carbon. To get graphite as well as other top value carbon products, Marlborough-based CarbonScape relies on its unique technique and GDT’s carbon made with the help of tire pyrolysis. GDT runs a tire pyrolysis facility at Warren in Western New South Wales. The future graphite production will take place at that site.

Six road construction projects applying sustainable techniques and materials received via scrap tire recycling have been commenced by Abu Dhabi’s Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities (DPM). The authoritative body decided to run the initiatives following careful research by University of Sharjah that tried to determine whether the materials will be suitable for the local climate. Prior to the start, performance tests and several pilot projects for nine infrastructure initiatives in Abu Dhabi took place.

The Stawell Magistrates’ Court in Australia’s Victoria found Used Tyre Recycling Corporation Pty Ltd guilty of two counts after the enterprise had failed to act in accordance with an EPA notice; the court ordered the company and its director to pay total fines and costs of $440,000. Used Tyre Recycling Corp will now have to pay a fine of $400,000 and cover costs slightly over $2,900. And Used Tyre Recycling Corporation’s sole director Matthew Starr is forced to pay a fine of $20,000, as well as $16,555.93.

Tyre Stewardship Australia (TSA) wants to find new markets for products made out of scrap tire rubber by collaborating with innovative manufacturers. The body has already set up its Market Development Fund that provides assistance to local entrepreneurs.
